What is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift can take years off your appearance by getting rid of sagging skin or superflyous fat pockets on your chin and neck region. This combination of improvements aims to rejuvenate and restore a more youthful appearance.
Neck lift surgery can dramatically improve the profile of the neck, creating a more youthful and sharper profile. This procedure is often combined with the use of a laser SmartLipo™, PrecisionTx, or SlimLipo™ or radiofrequency device (ThermiTight®) to aid in achieving additional skin tightening and liposuction to help remove fat. In addition, Dr. Rothaus may recommend the procedure on the neck be combined with a mentoplasty (chin implant) to further help improve the contour of the neck. The combination can create amazing results.
Who is a Good Candidate for the Neck Lift Procedure?
Good candidates are men or women who demonstrate:
- Localized fat deposits under the chin
- Looseness of neck muscle and/or neck skin
- Non-smokers or those who have ceased smoking at least two months prior to the procedure
- Overall good health
Consultation
During the initial consultation, Dr. Rothaus will evaluate the patient’s profile and individual anatomy in order to create a customized treatment plan. A thorough discussion of your medical history will take place. You will be asked about any underlying conditions, current medications, and past cosmetic procedures.
How Does the Neck Lift Procedure Work?
Many of the patients at Rothaus Plastic Surgery can be treated with a minimally invasive procedure using a combination of liposuction, lasers, radiofrequency, and fillers. If plication of the muscle or a chin implant is required, an incision is typically made under the chin to trim any loose skin. The net effect is to produce a more youthful neck appearance.
What is the Recovery like After a Neck Lift Procedure?
Swelling and bruising are usually minimal after necklift surgery. A compressive neck dressing may be used for the first 24 hours to help control swelling and to help the neck skin adapt to the new neck contour. Most patients can resume modest activity almost immediately. A complete recovery from necklift surgery occurs in about 5-10 days. This surgery creates a tighter neck that appears softer and younger.

How Much Does a Neck Lift Cost?
